Cruise Ship & Super Yacht
SUPER YACHT

NORLAND

An interior design ideal for long range cruising; practical and comfortable, contemporary but not plain. The palette throughout the boat is relaxed and cozy, with beiges, taupe, mauve and shades of blue, and a playing contrast between a dark Walnut and a light silk cotton wood.

The architectural floating staircase and its back wall featuring an artwork with a marine life motif spanning two decks is one of the main focus of the yacht. Extensive attention was paid to materials such as fabrics, leather and stone with a special mention to the finishing details such as stitching, and metal trims.

Burger 48’ Cruiser

An interior designed for comfort and space but never losing the feel of “coziness”. Themed around deep blues and warm leather tones with elegant contrast of light and dark woods.

A deep sense of comfort is the feeling when you board the Burger 48’ Cruiser.

OGILVY & MATHER

6600 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309

We strive to create an environment in which all employees can contribute to their fullest potential.
Diversity is the lifeblood of effective marketing communications, and Ogilvy has seen the benefits that a diverse workforce can generate. Depth of consumer understanding is critical to effective advertising. It is our belief that our diverse workforce makes for richer consumer insights and understanding.

Concept

Team 6 aims to provide employees of Ogilvy & Mather with a finished space that optimizes personal and professional growth. With the necessary tools to create, accomplish and deliver an exceptional product in the advertisement industry, while maintaining David Ogilvy’s main ideas and vision alive.
Keeping in mind the company’s Big IdeaL philosophy is key in achieving the goal  to create a space for the users to be comfortable, engaged and that nourishes their creative minds.
Using scale and unexpected proportions of architectural features should render a functional yet fun environment.
Most Furniture arrangements have taken into consideration the criteria that has proven to obtain the most efficient workplaces for this generation of users. It is of immeasurable importance that these arrangements cover all aspects of flexibility, collaboration and room for development. These can include but are not limited to moveable furniture and walls, well organized and defined areas with enough visual interest.
The use of materials and surfaces that encourage the use of visual arts and interactive expressions is introduced as a focal point.
The design calls for a balanced space that combines mostly open concept work spaces, with room for privacy and territoriality, and a well tough out plan to implement a hierarchy system that does not limit necessary contact and collaboration.
It is crucial that after the correct application of these design principles,  the resulting space fosters creativity and brainstorming, in a comfortable yet professional atmosphere.

HEALTHCARE DESIGN
HEALTHCARE

Concept:

Fear of pain, discomfort and invasion of personal space are usually associated with a dental office. Based on the interaction between points and counterpoints on the otherwise consistent structure of an architectural melody, and through coupling, positive unexpected associations and opposites that by having a simultaneous presence make each other more appreciable we aim to create a system that translates into a matrix of health. (self-actualization)

A harmonic relationship between points and counterpoints alongside a connecting element, combining spaces while retaining their individuality. Spaces are different and autonomous, however interrelated due to the intermediate spaces and a matrix system organization

MULTI'USE
MULTI-USE BUILDING DESIGN

The Wolfsonian-FIU  is a museum, library and research center that uses its collections to illustrate the persuasive power of art and design. Founded in 1986 by Mitchell Wolfson Jr. The Wolfsonian was a direct response to housing the immense collection of decorative and propaganda art collected by “Micky”.

Because of Micky, the Wolfsonian is focused on:

The importance of design and how it drives human behavior

•Educating the public about how design impacts the past and future

As the next phase of it evolution, the Wolfsonian-FIU is embarking on the next iteration of its brand.

The Wolfsonian-FIU Museum of interior design

Ship: Allure of the seas
FIU Project

Client:

It is thought that Royal Caribbean would have never existed, if it wasn’t for the passionate desire of a New York based Norwegian shipbroker for a female radio officer serving on a cruise ship operating out of Miami!

Founded in 1968 by Anders Wilhelmsen & Company, I.M. Skaugen & Company, and Gotaas Larsen, Norwegian shipping companies. Royal Caribbean’s goal from its very beginning was to create a cruise line that combines imagination and innovation. Its principal concept is to deliver the WOW to each and every one of its guests.

Royal Caribbean has named all ships ending in “Of the Seas” since 1991.

Concept:

Inspired in the traditional process of chocolate making, mixed with the new technology of 3D printing, KOKO by Royal Caribbean presents a new experience for you vacations. Everyday technology become more and more part of our lives, now 3d printing is present in the  fashion industry, foot wear, medicine, automobile industry and now in the culinary industry.

KOKO is a 3D printed chocolate jewelry where the visitor can go through the process of making their own piece.

First go through our Chocolate Vault and pick from our 50 different flavors

Then, step into our "Consulting Area" where you can design or pick from our preset models, next enjoy watching the process of 3D printing.

The design explores the similarities of chocolate making with jewelry making, goes from a powder, to liquid to a solid stage.

Hampton House

5400 NW 22nd Ave #203  Miami, FL 33142

FIU Project

History

In the days of segregation, when people of color could secure neither a room nor a dinner reservation at Miami Beach's famed hotels, the Hampton House Motel in nearby Brownsville provided a haven of culture for African Americans.

Malcolm X became a guest at the 50-room motel; Berry Gordy, founder of Motown Records, visited the Mediterranean-style outdoor pool with Muhammad Ali. Sam Cooke regularly sang in the low-lit lounge, and locals claim that Martin Luther King Jr. gave an early version of his "I Have a Dream" speech at the Hampton House before proclaiming the final version in Washington in 1963.

But the Hampton House closed in 1972, just 17 years after it opened, a casualty of desegregation and nearby growth. It has remained vacant and deteriorating ever since, and today it is one of the last segregation-era hotels still standing.

Concept:

The 1950s was the golden age of comic books; it was a period of fun and excitement. Cartoonist Jackie Ormes was the first African American woman who worked in a male-dominated world of journalists and cartooning. She tackled subjects such as politics, foreign policy, racism and environmental justice in a playful and stylistic manner. In a time when African American women were typically projected in a derogatory fashion, Ormes showed classy, educated, and attractive characteristics of black women.

Jackie wanted to influence the reader of the time, “She was the voice of what was in the hearts and minds of so many people: the desire to move forward and make progress”. Like Ormes, I want to show a realistic side of history from a rare perspective through creating spaces that are classy and attractive like her characters but at the same time create a fun atmosphere. Pages Restaurant and Torchy Tea Room will bring the life and history of the Hampton House. It will be a place where members of the community will always remember when mentioned. People all over Miami will be attracted to this place. In my design, I wish to create an unusual environment full of jazz, cartoons, and a very classy surrounding. It is not to be simply a restaurant; it has to be a destination and an experience

Inspired by the cartoon graphic, the design follows a sequence of colors, patterns and textures that draws you thought the story of the liberated African American woman
